Was founded by Dee Wilson RN, CHPN to support current nursing students and persons who wish to become nursing students.
Dee started working in the health care industry as a nursing assistant at the age of 16.
At the age of 30, she entered a traditional Practical Nursing program in Central Florida and graduated in 1992. She took and passed the last 'pen and paper' NCLEX-PN in 1992.
Dee attended Excelsior College and graduated in 2006. She challenged and passed the CPNE - a rigorous 2 1/2 day clinical exam. She passed the NCLEX-RN in August of 2006.
Dee has a wide variety of nursing experiences, including hospital/medical/surgical, long-term care, Alzheimer's care, residential substance abuse treatment, psychiatric nursing, home health/private duty, woman's abuse/shelter, community and clinical instruction, Hospice case management and in-patient facility staff nurse.
She is the 2010 recipient of the Avow Hospice Debbie Wallace Scholarship Award.
Dee is currently employed as a hospice in-patient facility nurse. She is a nationally Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN). She is enrolled in Excelsior College Master's Nursing program with an estimated graduation date in 2013.
She is a dedicated nurse, and nurse advocate. Her passion is to help nurses further their education, and encourage those who have 'thought about nursing' to live their dream of becoming nurses.
Dee is originally from Illinois. She has lived in Florida since 1982, and has lived in Naples since 1993.
